Sun TV channels went off the air in most places in the Temple City following an instant migration of local cable operators from Maran-owned Sumangali Cable Vision (SCV) to Azhagiri-owned Royal Cable Vision (RCV) launched on Monday.Caught in the cable tiff were housewives who passionately watch the mega serials telecast on Sun TV.They choked the phone lines and flooded the local cable operators with angry queries about the sudden blackout of the Sun Network since Tuesday morning.Only those who had installed Sun Direct (Directto-Home Service) could watch the Sun channels without any interruption. A prolonged blackout could see more of cable connected homes switch over to Sun’s DTH, which is yet to take off among the middle and low income groups. A few localities like K.K.Nagar, however, did not suffer any interruption in the network’s telecast as the operators chose to remain with SCV.
Madurai Cable TV Operators Association A.M. Kannan told this newspaper, “With the presence of 30 MSOs, a total of 450 cable operators function in the city. While only 100 of them are with SCV, the major chunk of operators shifted their loyalty to RCV.Moreover, the dealers of pay channels like Raj, Vijay, Jetix and Discovery have inked pact with RCV to relay their channels. We do not have any problem in telecasting Jaya TV programmes too.” Sensing stiff competition, SCV jumped the guns a week ago by giving cable operators 50 percent concession in the charges towards every cable connection. But Azhagiri, according to an insider in his camp, had told a meeting of cable operators after the launch of RCV on Monday that he was aware of their difficulties assured them a share in the profits.
Meanwhile, a scroll announcing that Sun TV firm has been delaying its telecast service to RCV despite the latter’s appeal, is on in areas where Sun channels have been blacked out. RCV is very hopeful of getting Sun package. “This is only a business. When we have the network, they have no other alternative but to come to us in near future,” Mr Kannan said.

I’m really happy today after seeing to my mail inbox that my blog has been approved by PayPerPost. I was blogging for past six months, but I never know that I can earn from my blog simply by writing reviews on the products. One of my college-mate told me last week that it is possible to earn online with the blog and also he told me the way to do so. He asked me to go to his blog and click on the affiliate link at his blog, which took me to the PayPerPost, dreamworld for bloggers.
And, now I’ve got my blog approved from PPP. Later, I was really shocked to see that PPP pays $20 for the first post written to express my feelings. I can’t imagine $20 for a simple post. I spend this dollars in the best way I wish to spend. I really want to thanks to my college-mate for showing me PPP. The unique feature about PPP is, their pay is at the best, which others lag behind. Here after, my blog can be used for blog ads, where the marketers can hire me for reviewing and promoting their products. I am also going to concentrate much on increasing my blog page rank, so that I can grab more offers from Pay payperpost.

Amidst chanting of vedic hymns, chief minister M. Karunanidhi’s son and DMK strongman in the south M.K. Azhagiri launched his family-owned Royal Cable Vision (RCV), touted as an archrival to the Maran-owned Sumangali Cable Vision (SCV), here on Monday. Signalling the launch, his wife Kanti Azhagiri lighted the traditional kuthuvizhakku and cut the ceremonial ribbon to mark the inauguration of the new office premises in Agrini, a recently-promoted residential colony, after the rituals were over. All his family members including his son Dayanidhi alais Durai, daughter Kayalvizhi and son-in-law Venkatesh were present.
MLAs Gouse Batsha and Moorthy, Mayor Thenmozhi, Deputy Mayor P.M. Mannan and almost all DMK councillors were in attendance. However, mediapersons were not permitted inside the venue. It was a low-profile affair meant for his family members and loyalists. While a few die-hard supporters of Mr Azhagiri erected banners and buntings announcing the new cable network almost all party functionaries including ministers K.R.Periyakaruppan and Tamilarasi splashed the vernaculars with advertisements.

Azhagiri’s Royal Cable Vision (RCV) was launched with great fanfare. It immediately targeted the Sumangali Cable Vision (SCV) of the Maran brothers which has been reigning supreme in most parts of the state till now. With the local cable operators told to shift loyalty from SCV to RCV, there is big confusion in the temple town and other southern districts. “Azhagiri’s aim is to black out Sun TV from all cable operators receiving signals from RCV and promote Kalaignar TV in its place. Jaya, Vijay and Raj will be shown on RCV but not Jaya’s other channels like Plus and Max. But we are confident that public pressure will force them to end up showing Sun TV as well,” commented an SCV official.
According to DMK sources, all party MLAs in South Tamil Nadu have been instructed to persuade cable operators in their area to switch over to RCV in the coming days. The police in Madurai and neighbouring areas have also received unofficial instructions to lend their muscle to ‘operation enlistment.’ “What the SCV did in the past, RCV is repeating now,” quipped a DMK functionary. The arrival of RCV is bound to eat into SCV’s estimated subscriber base of seven lakhs in Madurai and four lakhs in Tirunelveli. More importantly, RCV will be the vehicle to promote Kalaignar TV, which could not make much of an impact even eight months after launch last year. With these two cable networks fighting it out for operators and subscribers, the Arasu Cable Corporation is in a quandary how to proceed in such a strife-torn scenario. To be on the safe side, Arasu has decided to roll out its services initially at Thanjavur, Vellore and Coimbatore, where RCV is not in the fray.

It was dramatic final between two likely fierce competitors in tennis field Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal and at last Nadal came out in the clay court in tremendous fashion with his four consecutive title and maintained his power in clay court. The match though many people thought will go the wire as it would do when these fierce players go head to head, lasted only 108 minutes, the shortest time in men’s final in French Open.
Nadal beat Federer in straight sets and set the crowd ablaze. It was Borg recrod that Nadal broke of 4 cotinous french open titles.Federer though had crisp shots of his style in between but was undone by superb skills of Nadal co-ordinally.For once in the lifetime Roger had a shaky start in finals.Federer had never lost in straight sets since 1999.Once again Nadal proved that he can beat him and beat him convingingly throughout and thats why he is at No.2 spot pushing Federer at all times.
